Breaking: Vance’s Bold Reaction to Second CR Failure Has Everyone Talking—Watch the Heated Exchange!

The government funding battle has taken another dramatic turn, and the blame game is in full swing. After the GOP, with support from President-elect Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy, proposed a clean Continuing Resolution (CR) funding the government until March and including disaster relief, the bill failed to pass.

In a shocking twist, 38 Republicans joined most Democrats in voting no.

List of Republicans who voted against the spending bill:

Biggs
Brecheen
Burchett
Burlison
Cammack
Cloud
Clyde
Crane
Curtis
Duncan
Fulcher
Good (VA)
Gosar
Harris
Hunt

Van Duyne

Musk laid the blame squarely on Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), arguing that Democrats had the opportunity to pass disaster relief without pork but chose politics over solutions.

Vice President-elect JD Vance didn’t hold back in his fiery reaction:

“The Democrats just voted to shut down the government, even though we had a clean CR because they didn’t want to give the president negotiating leverage during his first term or the first year of his new term. And number two, because they would rather shut down the government and fight for global censorship bullshit. They’ve asked for a shutdown, and I think that’s exactly what they’re going to get.”

On the Republican side, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) defended her no vote, highlighting the lack of fiscal responsibility in the proposed measure:

“This CR had the same level of spending today as it did yesterday, but the debt ceiling was suspended, meaning there was no limit on the debt. I cannot in good conscience vote to continue Joe Biden’s spending levels months into Trump’s presidency.”

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) echoed her concerns, advocating for single-subject votes on spending measures rather than broad, catch-all resolutions.

With this failure, Speaker Mike Johnson now faces the monumental task of crafting a Plan C. The stakes couldn’t be higher as the clock ticks toward a government shutdown.
